5 Things Every Class of 2026 Senior Should Know Before Their Photo Session

Senior year is just around the corner, and if you’re part of the Class of 2026, this summer is your chance to get ahead.

Before the chaos of school, sports, and senior activities kicks in, now’s the perfect time to start planning your senior experience session. Trust me, it goes fast. And you’ll want to capture this milestone with intention and style.

One of the first big milestones? Your senior portraits.
Here are five things every Class of 2026 senior should know before stepping in front of the camera:

1. Fall in Arizona is Prime Time for Photos

While the rest of the country is booking summer sessions, here in Arizona we know better. With temperatures soaring in June and July, most of my outdoor sessions begin in September or later. The light is golden, the air is cooler, and you will be much more comfortable (and less shiny!) in your favorite outfits.

2. Booking Early = Less Stress

Once school starts, your calendar will fill up fast—sports, clubs, college planning, and everything in between. Planning your senior session now means you will have the best date options, plenty of time to prepare, and one less thing to worry about during a busy fall semester.

3. Your Session Should Reflect You

Senior portraits are about more than a smile—they are about capturing who you are. Whether you are into sports, music, gaming, reading, or simply want something timeless and classic, your session will be designed around your personality. We will talk through location ideas, wardrobe options, and anything else that makes your session uniquely yours.

4. Mom Gets a Moment Too (Even If She Wasn't Expecting It)

Senior sessions are about celebrating you—but they mean a lot to your parents, too. That is why I always invite mom in for a quick photo at the end of every session. Most of the time, she is not planning on it. But this little moment becomes one of the most treasured.

It is not about posting it online (unless she wants to). It is about remembering this season of life—what it felt like to be here, on the edge of something new.

It is my gift to her.

5. This Is a Milestone Worth Celebrating

You are only a high school senior once. Your photos will hang on walls, be shared with family, and maybe even make it into your graduation slideshow. Take the time to make them meaningful—you will be glad you did.

Senior year is full of big moments. Let’s start it with a session that feels authentic, fun, and unforgettable.
