More Than a Game: Creating a Mom & Me Tradition for Senior Athletes

Senior year is different.

For athletes, it may be the final season of early practices, bus rides, and game day routines. For musicians, it might be the last halftime performance. For performers, the final curtain call. For student leaders, the last event they help organize.

For moms, it is something even bigger. It is the realization that the chapter you have been living for years is beginning to shift.

You remember the first uniform.
The first concert.
The first audition.
The first meeting.
The folding chairs. The long nights. The car rides home.

And suddenly, it is senior year.

That is why I created the Mom & Me Senior Session.

This experience is designed for seniors and their moms or chosen representatives, whether they are athletes, musicians, performers, or leaders. It is a chance to step into the space that shaped them and preserve the connection that carried them through it.

From Friday night lights to spring afternoons on the diamond, from marching band fields to theater stages, the bond between a senior and his mom deserves to be documented.

Each Mom & Me session includes:

• Individual portraits of each senior with mom or representative
• A senior and mom group image when offered through a program
• Professionally edited images delivered in a private online gallery

If a mom is unable to attend, the senior is always welcome to participate at no cost. No one is left out. Ever.

What began as a way to honor senior athletes has grown into something bigger. Every program has seniors whose stories deserve to be preserved in a meaningful way.

For booster clubs, directors, and program leaders, this becomes more than a photo session. It becomes part of the senior experience. A way to recognize the students and the women who supported them every step of the way.

For moms, it is a moment to pause. To stand beside the young man you raised. To celebrate who he has become before the next chapter begins.

Senior year moves quickly. The final performance, the final game, the final event comes faster than anyone expects.
